David Corroon

David Corroon is from Mullingar and aged 19. He joined Special Olympics in Sept 1997 when a new club was formed in Mullingar Co. Westmeath. His mum Bernie helps to run the club called Shoot’N’Stars. There are 49 athletes in the club. David attends training every Tuesday night for the last 10 years. David loves going to Basketball games and competes in the Connaught Region.

David is busy training for the World Games and has been going to Athlone Special Olympics Club to train on Wednesday night and Davids family bring him to the gym on Thursday and do drills, lay ups and practice with him. At the end of August, David is doing a week long summer camp in Basketball which is been run by Basketball Ireland, so this should help him on his way to China.
