Today was a really great day, my first day as a cheer leader out in the venue for TEAM Ireland! We’d an early start this morning I decided it was about time I treated myself to a Chinese massage to help loosen up the muscles. Full body massage for less than 10euros!! Where else in the world would you get it?! It was absolutely wonderful – I felt like I had no body afterwards!
Straight after the relaxation of the massage I headed out to the excitement of seeing our athletes compete. First stop was the Aquatics venue and I was so lucky to witness one of the first Irish medal winners of the Games compete! Kathy Davidson from Portadown, Co Armagh won a bronze medal and was absolutely amazing to watch in the water. Dr. Tim Shriver and his children presented the medals and it was an honour to witness it. It was a very emotional for everyone to see Ireland winning the medal and there were great cheers for our super star.
We headed back to our hotel afterwards tired but elated. The organising of these events must take so much effort to plan but when everything comes together it’s definitely all worth while!
